VR KINO na FeKKu!
V času trajanja festivala bo v mali dvorani Kinodvora postavljen tudi VR kino, kjer bo obiskovalcem na voljo vrhunska virtualno-resničnostna izkušnja in nabor večkrat nagrajenih 360-stopinjskih filmov zadnjih let, ki so bili brez izjeme predstavljeni na prestižnih festivalih, kot so Sundance, Tribeca, Venice VR, Sitges ….
Po nekaj letih, ko se je prvo navdušenje nad dostopnostjo in zmožnostmi VR tehnologije nekoliko poleglo, se produkcija filmov znotraj 360-stopinjskih okolij vztrajno veča, nastala dela pa postajajo vedno bolj vznemirljiva in se poslužujejo še neslutenih načinov uporabe filmskega jezika. Vse več je tudi velikih avtorskih imen, ki se poigravajo s to formo, obenem pa so tudi največji svetovni filmski festivali našli mesto za nov(odobn)ega prišleka.. V tem oziru tudi na FeKK pripoznavamo nujo, da se s kuriranim programom kratkih VR filmov odprejo možnosti spoznavanja in raziskovanja kakovostne svetovne VR produkcije.
Od torka do petka, med 15. in 20. uro v mali dvorani Kinodvora.

Dekleta sonca / The Sun Ladies

In 2014, ISIS fighters invaded Iraq and targeted the Yazidi community of Sinjar. The men were killed, and the women and girls taken as sex slaves. Some of the women who escaped started a female-only fighting unit called the Sun Ladies to bring back their sisters and protect the honor and dignity of their people.
The Sun Ladies VR experience is an in-depth look at the personal journey of the captain of the Sun Ladies, Xate Singali. From her roots as a famous singer in Kurdistan to her new life as a soldier on the front lines, risking everything to stop the violence against her people.
The audience will be faced with the question “Who would you be and what would you do faced with the extreme inhumane violence against those you love?”

Based on the Oscar short-listed Participant Media documentary Zero Days, Scatter’s award-winning, immersive documentary Zero Days VR visualizes the story of Stuxnet in a new way: placing you inside the invisible world of computer viruses, experiencing the high stakes of cyber warfare at a human scale.
Zero Days VR highlights how this digital threat is closer to home than we realize, representing a new chapter in modern warfare.

MIYUBI is a 40-minute virtual reality scripted comedy about a Japanese toy robot – inhabited by you, the viewer – gifted to a young boy on his birthday in 1982 suburban America. Over the course of a year, as the boy’s family begins to fracture, you experience love and your inevitable obsolescence through an intimate, hilarious and endearing interactive story. A virtual reality experience by Felix & Paul Studios, in collaboration with Funny or Die, starring Jeff Goldblum, P.J Byrne, Emily Bergl, Owen Vaccaro, Richard Riehl, Ted Sutherland and Tatum Kensington Bailey.

Zapiski o slepoti: V temo / Notes on Blidness: Into Darkness

In 1983, after decades of steady deterioration, writer and theologian John Hull became totally blind. To help him make sense of the upheaval in his life, he began documenting his experiences on audio cassette. Over three years he recorded in excess of sixteen hours of material – a unique testimony of loss, rebirth and renewal, excavating his interior world of blindness. Upon publication, John’s diaries were described by author and neurologist Oliver Sacks as ‘a masterpiece… The most precise, deep and beautiful account of blindness I have ever read.’
These original diary recordings form the basis of this project, a six-part interactive documentary using new forms of storytelling, gameplay mechanics and virtual reality to explore his cognitive and emotional experience of blindness. Each scene will address a memory, a moment and a specific location from John’s audio diary, using binaural audio and real time 3D animations to create a fully immersive experience
